Member Spotlight: Citizens Bank of Ada
Citizens Bank of Ada has been a leader in community and customer service for over 50 years. There aren’t many places you can go in Ada without seeing or hearing about Citizens Bank. With 4 locations and 11 ATMs spread across Ada and the surrounding area, we want people in this community to know that we are invested in them as a locally owned and operated bank. We strive for excellence in everything we do and seek to treat our neighbors with the utmost care. The bank participates in countless volunteer efforts, including organizations such as Ada Area Chamber of Commerce, Ada Main Street, Rotary Club, Lion’s Club, Kiwanis Club, Young Professionals of Ada, Abba’s Table, United Way, Pontotoc County Drug Coalition, Relay for Life, Ada Homeless Shelter, East Central University, and many others. The bank is proud to always have a board representative for the Chamber of Commerce and other amazing organizations in our community. The bank is a huge supporter of our local schools, always willing to help with various campus groups. For 20 years, the bank has had a Citizens for Tomorrow bank board for high school seniors, which has provided a great opportunity for students’ leadership development. One of the coolest sponsored events at the bank has been our PAWS Valentine’s Adoption Day, where we allow community members to adopt a pet on the spot at our 12th Street location. Our dedicated employees truly live out the bank’s mission in “empowering our neighbors to reach their dreams while honoring God by the way we serve.” The bank has an annual employee appreciation event to enjoy games, great food, and fellowship with one another, one of the great examples of what makes the bank a great place to work…and sometimes play! We love when we have opportunities for the community to be involved in the fun we have. If you haven’t ever been to Citizens Bank during a holiday like Easter, Halloween, or Christmas, you have been missing out. Halloween is a very special occasion for our employees to dress up in costume at every location, and it is always the talk of the town on that day. The Easter Bunny shows up every year to take pictures for a donation to the American Cancer Society. The Christmas season is such a sweet time to come inside the 12th Street location as we have an Open House each year with live music, fresh cookies, and drinks. Santa Claus always comes to visit each year for this celebration and takes pictures with families. The Grinch has also been known to make an appearance! The bank raises funds throughout the year to provide gifts for kids during Christmas who might otherwise not be able to receive them. We continually strive to do all we can to make our community a better place for those who work and live here. “it” Does Matter Where You Bank!
What Our Members Are Saying
Our chamber membership connects us to our community and has far reaching dividends. PEC continues to be built by the communities we serve. Being a member of the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce provides exposure to the builders of our local Ada community. They are an integral part of our business and contribute to the success of our annual meeting, known locally as “PEC Day”.
Giving back to the community is an important part of who I am. The Chamber of Commerce is a great resource that allows me to do so.
The Chamber of Commerce has a huge impact on local small businesses. The Chamber has been an advocate for us here at McCortney’s Family Pharmacy. Through marketing, leading and creating resources for our community, they work to improve and support all local businesses.
