Committees

Advocacy & Government Affairs

Chair - Stacy Crabtree

Purpose:  Stay informed and current of local and state issues that affect the business community  in Ada and keep the business community informed of the issues. 

Primary Goals and Objectives: 

  • Track legislation that impacts chamber members and inform the membership of potential changes or creation of new laws. 
  • Create useful and meaningful forums for discussion and understanding members’ views on the issues/proposed legislation 
  • Identify a priority list of issues that will be tracked.  The priority is established through committee discussions and input from local business leaders and owners

Events Committee

Chair - Chris Feiler

Purpose: Create, plan, and implement events that meet the mission of the Chamber. The events are signature and fundraising events.  Each event will have their own sub committees (as needed) who will report back to the Events committee at their monthly meetings.  

Primary Goals and Objectives: 

  • Contribute ideas toward planning current events and programs
  • Analyze attendance numbers, as well as survey feedback, and strategize ways to implement relevant ideas to enhance program and event value
  • Brainstorm future events that serve the chamber’s mission

Leadership Committee

Chair - Stacey Golightly

Purpose: Develop a pool of committed well informed leaders who will actively participate in the growth of the community by accepting leadership roles in civic, charitable, or governmental organizations.  

Primary Goals and Objectives: 

  • Provide quality leadership programs through Leadership Ada & Leadership University
  • Develop a recruitment base to assure the quality and diversity of the applicants within all leadership programs
  • Ensure that each program is properly organized and the curriculum is instituted int eh most professional manner 
  • Review membership renewals monthly and assist in member visits or phone calls (as needed) for “past due” membership
  • Identify community service projects that each class can engage in

Chair - Jennifer Boeck

Purpose: Help recruit new members into the Chamber, from prospecting, developing outreach strategies, and implementing a strategic plan for membership retention and development.  

Primary Goals and Objectives: 

  • Make recommendations for tools and resources to help grow and retain membership 
  • Suggest opportunities for community involvement to connect with member and reach prospective members 
  • Develop and maintain member retention plan
  • Review membership renewals monthly and assist in member visits or phone calls (as needed) for “past due” membership
  • Identify new prospective members
  • Promote the Chamber and the benefits of membership 

Retail Committee

Chair - Stacey Golightly

Purpose: Organizes and promotes Shop Ada First. Loyalty to local retail business is the primary function of this group. Provide Holiday promotions throughout the year in order to keep our retailers on the leading edge.  

Primary Goals and Objectives: 

  • Create events that support shopping local
  • Represent all retail chamber members  
  • Support and encourage a viable and sustainable retail industry
  • Develop educational opportunities and seminars to promote Shop Ada First

Young Professionals Committee

Chair - Jennifer Beck

Purpose: The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals (YPA) develop the Ada area’s future leaders by providing ambitious young professionals with the opportunity to build relationships, serve the community, and engage with political, civic, and business leaders.
